Oban, Isle of Mull - und ein vertrautes Gesicht/ - and a familiar face

In Oban war ich eigentlich nur, um auf die Isle of Mull (danke Brenda und Bob fuer diese Empfehlung!) zu fahren. Aber da es direkt im Zentrum eine Whisky-Destillerie gibt, das Wetter furchtbar war und ich einen Tag Zeit hatte, habe ich an einer Fuehrung teilgenommen. Bereits in Fort Augustus verkostete ich verschiedene Whisky-Sorten und wusste, wie man Whisky richtig trinkt. Es war sehr interessant, mehr ueber die HErstellung zu lernen und den Unterschied zwischen einem Fass-Whisky und dem Flaschen-Whisky zu schmecken.

Am naechsten Tag bin ich auf die Isle of Mull und bin dort ein bisschen rumgelaufen, aber das Wetter war (oh Wunder) mal wieder nicht so schoen und der im Buch eingezeichnete Wanderweg nicht vorhanden, weshalb ich nicht allzu lange auf der Insel geblieben bin. Vielleicht ein anderes Mal mit mehr Zeit.

Und dann ging es am Freitag (07.03.2014) nach Dunblane, wo ich die naechsten Tage mit Johanna (eine Freundin aus der Schule, die hier gerade ein Auslandsjahr macht) verbringe.

Nach nun fast zwei Monaten des Reisens ist es schoen, mal wieder jemanden zu sehen den man laenger kennt als ein paar Tage und sich ueber die alten Zeiten austauschen zu koennen.

(Wobei ich auf meiner Reise schon einige Leute unerwartet wiedergetroffen habe, worueber ich mich immer sehr freue. Teilweise an ganz verschiedenen Orten, in anderen Staedten oder sogar Laendern :) )

So...

Actually I was in Oban to get to the Isle of Mull (thank you Brenda and Bob for this suggestion!). But in the center of Oban is a Whisky Distillery, the weather was horrible (again) and I had a free day and so I joined a guided tour through the Distillery. I already tasted different sorts in Fort Augustus and knew, how to drink Whisky properly. It was really interesting to learn more about the production and to taste the difference between a cask-Whisky and a bottled Whiskey.

The next day I took the ferry to the Isle of Mull and walked around but the weather wasn´t the best (surprise, surprise) and the hiking way in my book didn´t exist in reality which is why I didn´t stay for a long time. Maybe the next time...

On Friday (07.03.2014) I went to Dunblane to visit Johanna and spend a few days with her. (Johanna is a friend from school and at the moment german teacher assistant in a school in Dunblane.)

It´s really nice to meet a person I know longer than a few days and to talk about the old times after almost two months of travelling.

(Although I unexpectedly met again some people and I´m always very pleased. Most of them in different cities or even countries... :) )
