Soso.
Das neue Jahr 2017 befindet sich schon wieder im dritten Monat...
Nach dem Ende der Insel-Saison Mitte November machte ich mich mit dem besten (Reise-)Partner (Danke für alles, Mikey) den ich mir wünschen kann auf nach Skandinavien- zehn Tage Kopenhagen, Oslo und Stockholm.
Alles sehr schöne Städte!
Ungewollter Abschied. Nur einer von vielen kommenden.
Dann zurück nach Deutschland; Weihnachtsmärkte, Heliumballons, drei Tage Prag (danke Elli!), Besuch bei der Familie und dann Weihnachten und Silvester auf Rügen (danke für den schönen Start in das neue Jahr an meine beiden Neujahrs-Besucherinnen Elli und Johanna).
Danke an Stefanie, die für die nächsten zwei Monate auf Kater und Wohnung aufpasst.
Und dann habe ich ausgiebig meine zwei freien Monate genutzt; am 07. Januar ging es wieder in das wunderschöne Wendland zu Heike und Sally; erste Winterwanderung des Jahres, schottisch Tanzen, entspannen.
Drei Tage Berlin.
Meinen Onkel zufällig am Kölner Hauptbahnhof treffen.
Eine Nacht Brügge (so leer!?!)
Ein paar Tage bei meiner belgischen Familie. (Danke Marleen und co!)
Viele Busstunden nach Irland, nette Unterhaltungen unterwegs.
Knockara Stables; und selbst nach drei Jahren sofort das Gefühl, zu Hause anzukommen. Tanzen, gutes Essen, Natur. (Danke an Maria, George und Sabine für eine tolle und leider viel zu kruze Zeit!)
Freunde wiedersehen in Irland und England.
Zwei schöne Wochen in Devon, viel Musik, gutes Essen, malern und lange Spaziergänge mit Molly und Tess im frühlingshaften T-Shirt Wetter. (Danke an Sarah und Nigel)
Kulturschock bei der Rückkehr nach Deutschland.
Mehr Freunde und Familie wiedersehen.
Am 06. März geht´s wieder nach Rügen.

Well well.
The new year of 2017 is already in its third month... oh dear.
After the end of the island-season in mid November I traveled to Scandinavia with the best (travel-)partner I could imagine. (Thanks for everthing, Mikey)
Ten days Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm- all beautiful cities!
Unwanted goodbye- the first of many to come.
Then back to Germany; christmas markets, gas balloons, three days Prague (thanks Elli!), visiting family and Christmas and New Years on Rügen (Thanks for the nice start into the new year to my New-Years-visitor Elli and Johanna).
Thanks to Stefanie who takes care of my flat and cat for the next two months.
And then I used my two free months; starting on the 7th of January. Traveling to wonderful Wendland to Heike and Sally; first winterhike of the year, scottish dancing, relaxing.
Three days in Berlin.
Meeting my uncle by chance in the train station in Cologne.
One night in Bruges (so empty?!?)
Few days with my Belgian family. (Thanks Marleen and co!)
Many hours on the bus, nice conversations in between.
Knockara Stables; even after three years the feeling of coming home. Dancing, good meals, nature. (Thanks to Maria, George and Sabine for such an amazing but way too short time!)
Catching up with friends in Ireland und England.
Two great weeks in Devon, lots of music, good meals, painting and long walks with Molly and Tess in nice springlike weather. (Thanks to Sarah and Nigel)

Rüüügääähn und Proitzer Mühle
So so.
Mein letzter Post ist also doch schon, sagen wir ein bisschen, her.
Nun also ein Update. (Date? Habe ich Date gehört?)
Nach 1 1/2 Monaten auf Rügen habe ich die Insel für etwa drei Wochen verlassen, um auf der Proitzer Mühle als Helferin tätig zu sein. Die Proitzer Mühle ist ein wunderschönes Seminarhaus im Wendland (Hausaufgabe an alle Deutschen die das Wendland nicht kennen: informiert euch, es lohnt sich!), geleitet von Heike und Sally, mit tatkräftiger Unterstützung der Küchen- und Putzcrew.
Es gibt unendlich viel zu entdecken und die seltene Gelegenheit, ein waschechtes Wildschwein am Bauch zu kraulen.
Zufälligerweise fand in meiner Aufenthaltszeit der "Keltische Frühling" statt, ein Wochenende voll irischer Musik, Tanz und tollen Leuten- an dem ich teilnehmen durfte und so meine Set Dance-Reserven für den Rügen-Aufenthalt auffüllen konnte.
Danke danke danke an Heike und Sally für die tolle Zeit und alles andere- ich werde bestimmt wiederkommen!

Wieder zurück auf Rügen lebte ich mich allmählich in meiner neuen Umgebung ein, baute mein Bett fertig, kaufte mein erstes eigenes Sofa und hab seit Mitte Mai einen kleinen felligen Mitbewohner. Das mit dem sesshaft-Werden klappt also ganz gut ;)
Nun ist September- die Hochsaison somit vorbei (zum Glück!) und die Insel leert sich langsam wieder und so als Zwischenfazit bin ich doch sehr zufrieden mit meinem Einstieg.
Ich habe tolle Dinge von einigen Helfern gelernt, zum Beispiel Traumfänger zu Bauen (danke an die fabelhafte Eden!), das ein oder andere tolle Rezept und viel Wissenswertes über Pflanzen und die Natur (danke an die drei Deutschen Damen Barbara, Anette und Romy), Gartenarbeit und mich selbst. (Danke an Grace für deine Freundschaft und das Wiederkommen, sowie an Anne für den schönen Nachmittag am Strand)
Und ein riesen Dank an alle anderen, die mir immer wieder versichern das ich das was ich tue gut mache und sie sich heimisch und Willkommen fühlen
Lieben Dank an all meine Freunde und Familie, die mich hier besucht haben- das bedeutet mir viel!

After 1 1/2 months on Rügen I left the island for about three weeks to be a helper in Proitzer Mühle. Proitzer Mühle is a beautiful seminar house in Wendland (homework for all Germans who don´t know where it is: inform yourselves, it´s worth it!) leaded by Heike and Sally, with active support from the kitchen- and cleaning crew.
There is a lot to explore and the rare possibility to scratch a real boars belly.
Coincidentally there was the "Celtic Spring" going on while I was there- a weekend full with Irish music, dancing and incredible people- and I was allowed to join and able to restock my Set Dance-resources for Rügen.
Thank yoou thank you thank you to Heike and Sally for an amazing time and everything else- I will definitely come back!

Back on Rügen I settled down in my new home, finished building my bed, bought my first own couch and got a furry roommate since middle of May.
I guess settling down works quite well ;)
Now it´s middle of September, high season is over (luckily!) and the island starts getting empty again and I have to say, I´m quite happy with the start!
I learnt some great things from helpers, for example hwo to build dreamcatchers (thanks to fabulous Eden!), the one or other recipe and a lot about plants and nature (thanks to the three German Ladies Barbara, Anette and Romy), garden work and about myself. (Thanks to Grace for your friendship and coming back, as well to Anne for a well spent afternoon at the beach!)
And a huge thanks to everyone else who always reassured me that I´m doing a good job and who told me that they feel welcomed and home.
Thanks also to my family and friends, who visited me- that means a lot to me!

Belgien 2.0 und Neuigkeiten - Belgium 2.0 and News
So ihr Lieben. Neues Jahr, neues Glück!
Und Glück hatte ich eine ganze Menge in letzter Zeit... :)
Nach einem vorläufigen Abschied von der wunderbaren Insel kehrte ich in mein Berliner WG-Zimmer zurück und begann, wieder Gäste für die Ferienwohnungen zu empfangen. Außerdem stand an den Adventswochenenden auch der Heliumballonverkauf an, was viele Kinder glücklich und die Eltern ein bisschen ärmer machte... (Danke an Adrian und Flo für die lustigen Arbeitsstunden :D)
Gut in das neue Jahr gestartet (danke an all meine wunderbaren Freunde, die mitgefeiert haben!) schmiss ich meine Reisepläne über Bord und blieb noch eine Weile in Berlin, wo ich meine Kisten packte...
Ihr fragt euch, warum?
Tja, offensichtlich habe ich mich auf Rügen nicht ganz so doof angestellt und Gregor (der Besitzer der wunderbaren Ferienobjekte) hat mir einen Job angeboten, zu dem ich einfach nicht nein sagen konnte. Also zog ich am ersten März mit Sack und Pack auf die Insel und stelle mich den neuen Herausforderungen!
Die Zeit bis dahin nutzte ich für eine kleine "Deutschland-Tour" und einen Besuch bei meinen Lieblingsbelgiern, um dann vom Reisefieber vorerst gesättigt den sesshaften Beruf antreten zu können ;)
Nun bin ich schon einen (!) Monat hier oben- und was soll ich sagen? Die Zeit fliegt!
Mittlerweile ist meine kleine hübsche Wohnung gemalert und möbliert, das Bett befindet sich in Arbeit und die ersten Helfer und Gäste der Saison haben wir auch schon in Empfang genommen.

So my dearest friends. New year- new luck!
And I had a lot of luck recently... :)
After a temporary farewell from the wonderful island I returned to my Berlin shared-living-flat-room and restarted welcoming guests in their holiday flats.
In addition I was busy selling gas balloons at the advent-weekends, which made a lot of children happy and some parents a bit poorer... (Thanks to Adrian and Flo for funny working hours! :D)
After a good start into 2016 (thanks to all my amazing friends who celebrated with me) I jettisoned my travel plany and stayed in Berlin for a while, where I packed my bags and boxes...
You wonder, why?
Well, apparently I was quite good when I worked on Rügen and so Gregor (the owner of all the beautiful holiday objects) offered me a job I couldn´t resist saying yes!
So I moved with the whole kit and caboodle to the island and rose to the new challenges!
The time in between I used for a "German-Tour" and payed a visit to my favourite-Belgians to satisfy my travel bug for now and start the sedentary job. ;)
Now I´m here since one (!) month- and what shall I say? Time flies!
Meanwhile my small and pretty flat is painted and furnished, the bed is progressing and we welcomed the first helpers and guests of the season.
We celebrated Easter with Rum-balls a´la Grandmom Waltraud, self baked Easter lamb (the cake version ;)) and Hot Cross Buns a´la Ruby, with Easter fire and dying eggs- we had a good start into the new season!

Viele erste Male - Many first times
Aaalso- wieder auf Rügen!
Mittlerweile geht meine Zeit hier (vorerst) dem Ende entgegen und es wird allmählich ruhiger... Die Saison ist nahezu vorbei und nur vereinzelt sind noch Gäste auf der Insel verstreut.
Riesigen Dank an all unsere fleißigen Helfer und Helferinnen, die hier auf Arkadia nicht nur super gearbeitet haben, sondern mit denen ich eine wunderbare Zeit hatte. Über viele Spiele-Nächte (mich kann man jetzt offiziell als Spiel-Übersetzerin anheuern :D), gemeinsame Touri-Touren zu schönen Ecken Rügens und unterhaltsame Bier- (Ich danke euch, Martin und Conor, aus tiefstem Herzen dafür, dass ihr mich immer zum Lachen gebracht habt- und sämtliche Tischtennis-Turniere), Strick- (danke Astrid fürs Anstecken mit deiner Liebe zur Gartenarbeit), Lagerfeuer- (tausend Dank Andriana, für all die Kitzel-Aktionen und Gut-Drauf-Sein und Karin für meine Vertretug während ich weg war) und Rugby-Abende (danke Silke für die vielen Gespräche)- waren es sehr abwechslungsreiche und freudige Wochen für mich! (Und euch hoffentlich auch!)
Zum ersten Mal saß ich so richtig an einer Töpfer-Drehscheibe und konnte das Drehen ausprobieren (danke an Rike für den tollen Workshop), nahm an einer Zumba-Stunde teil, kochte eigenes Apfelmus ein, strickte die erste Socke zu Ende, pflanzte Büsche und Bäumchen, stand länger als drei Sekunden auf der Slackline und schaute (begeistert!) Rugby. - Sehr erfolgreich wie ich finde ;)

Finally my time here dies away (for now) and it´s getting quiet... Season is fading and only few guests are spread over the island.
Many many thanks to all our busy helpers, who didn´t only do a fantastic job at Arkadia but whith whom I also had an awesome time. Starting with game-nights (you can hire me now as official game-translator :D), Touri-Tours to some beautiful corners of Rügen and entertaining beer- (Thank you from the bottom of my heart Martin and Conor, for making me laugh and happy the whole time - and all the table tennis matches), knitting- (thanks to Astrid for infect me with appreciating garden work even more), campfire- (Thanks a million for all the tickle-actions and beeing funny (kind of stupid?!), Andriana and to Karin for running the place when I wasn´t here) and Rugby-evenings (thank you Silke for all the talks)- they were perfect and joyful weeks for me! (Hope for you as well!)
I sat on a potter´s wheel and tried creating something (thanks to Rike for a her great Workshop!), joined a Zumba-class, preserved my first own apple sauce, finished knitting the first sock, planted bushes and trees, stood on the slackline for more than three seconds and enjoyed (!) watching Rugby. - Successful weeks I´d say ;)
Further plans follow...

Stoute kabouter! - Belgien für Anfänger - Belgium for beginners
Tjaa... Was soll ich sagen?
FAHR NACH BELGIEN!
Meine zwei Wochen in Belgien mit Marleen, ihrer Familie und den ganzen tollen Tieren waren viel zu kurz! Ich wurde von dem ersten Moment herzlich aufgenommen und Laura und Anke (die beiden Töchter) nahmen mich überall mit, wo es etwas zu sehen gab (danke euch beiden dafür! und natürlich für alles andere ;))
Für zwei Tage habe ich Brügge unsicher gemacht - und ich muss sagen, die kleine hübsche Stadt hat meine Erwartungen echt übertroffen! Wie Venedig und Edinburgh zugleich :D (Jaa, Brügge ist meine neue Lieblingsstadt ;)) Überall duftet es nach Schokolade und Waffeln und man kommt aus dem Schlemmen gar nicht mehr raus. Stets hört man Pferdehufe klappern und Glocken läuten und den ein oder anderen Straßenmusiker findet man auch... Hört doch mal rein- ich bin sehr fasziniert von diesem Musiker :)

Ansonsten habe ich natürlich belgisches Bier getrunken (Achtung- hat wesentlich mehr Prozente als das übliche Deutsche!), belgische Waffeln gegessen (sowohl die Brüsseler als auch die Liège) und bin als richtiger Tourist eine Runde Boot gefahren und habe den bekanntesten Hund Belgiens angestarrt.
Nach einem schweren Abschied meiner Gastfamilie bin ich nun wieder in Berlin und fleißig am Geld verdienen, da es am 21. September auch schon nach Rügen geht!

GO TO BELGIUM!!
My two week stay in Belgium with Marleen, her family and all their lovely animals were way too short!
From the first moment they welcomed me warmly and Laura and Anke (the two daughters) took me everywhere, where something was going on (thanks for that! and everything else, of course ;))
I stayed two days in Brugge and I really must say- this small and beautiful town exceeded my expectations! It´s like Venice and Edinborough at once :D (Yees, Brugge is my new favourite city ;)) The scent of chocolate and waffles sticks in your nose while wandering around and you can´t stop gormandize. Everywhere you go the sound of clacking hooves and the ringing of the bells follows you as well as you can find a busker sitting around the corner... Give it a try - I´m really impressed by this musician :)

I also drank the Belgian beer (attention- it has more percent than the normal German beer!), ate Belgian waffles (the Brussels and Liège) and was a real tourist while taking a boat trip and staring at the most famous dog in Belgium.
After a grievous farewell of my hostfamily I´m now back in Berlin and earn money (for my next trip?!) and on 21. September I´m leaving to Rügen!

FAHR NACH BELGIEN!
Meine zwei Wochen in Belgien mit Marleen, ihrer Familie und den ganzen tollen Tieren waren viel zu kurz! Ich wurde von dem ersten Moment herzlich aufgenommen und Laura und Anke (die beiden Töchter) nahmen mich überall mit, wo es etwas zu sehen gab (danke euch beiden dafür! und natürlich für alles andere ;))

Einmal Rügen und zurück, bitte. - To Rügen and back, please.
Aus den geplanten drei Wochen auf Rügen sind im Endeffekt leider nur zwei geworden, aber meine Tage dort habe ich absolut genossen! Gregor hat ein wunderschönes Grundstück mit Ferienhäusern und ist ebenso wie seine fleißigen Helfer total willkommend und aufgeschlossen. Mein Traum, in einem eigenen Wohnwagen zu schlafen hat sich erfüllt und auch meine erste Surfstunde konnte ich absolvieren. (Ich hab nach dem zehnten Mal ins Wasser fallen aufgehört zu zählen, aber das wars wert! :D)
Außerdem hatten wir eine tolle Good-Morning Party, eine Hochzeitsfeier auf einem Feld mit Meerblick und Tanzen bis zum Morgengrauen und eine Yoga-Stunde. Langweilig war es ganz und gar nicht und es hat mich so überzeugt, dass ich ab Mitte September noch einmal für sieben Wochen da sein werde :)

Wieder in Berlin nahm ich meine Tätigkeit bei Great Home wieder auf, wo ich Gäste in den Ferienwohnungen empfange. Wer also mal in Berlin was sucht, schaue hier vorbei:
So. Und nun bin ich schon 1 1/2 Wochen wieder auf dem Farbenkinderhof und bespaße kleine Kinder, so wie jeden Sommer ;) Wer also im schönen Thüringen nach einer Ferienwohnug sucht oder seine Kinder für eine Woche abgeben will ist hier genau richtig...
Danach stehen immer noch die zwei Wochen Belgien auf dem Plan, dann Luftballonverkauf und anschließend Rügen... Ohh, das wird gut!! :D

Originally I wanted to stay three weeks in Rügen, but the bottom line is I stayed there only two weeks. I enjoyed every single day I spent there and Gregor as well as his hard-working helpers is totally welcoming and open minded. He has a beautiful spot with holiday homes and my dream to live in a camper van finally became true.I can cross off one more point on my bucket-list: taking a surfing-lesson! (I stopped counting after the tenth time falling into the water, but it was worth it and I definetly want to continue the course one day!)
We also had a wonderful good-morning-party, a wedding reception on a field with dancing until dawn and a yoga lesson. I never got bored and I decided to go back in mid of September to spend another few weeks :)
If you ever want to spend your vacation on Rügen you should stay in one of Gregors beautiful apartments!
Back in Berlin I resumed working for Great Home, wherefore I welcome guests in our apartments. Who looks for a nice place to stay in Berlin should have a look at te following website:

comeback
Soo... liebe Leute in der weiten Welt, hier bin ich wieder!
Seit dem ich wieder da bin ist viel passiert; ich habe mich im künstlerisch kreativen Bereich ausprobiert, bin vier Monate halb zwei (morgens!) aufgestanden und arbeite nun als professionelle Helium-Ballonverkäuferin.
Aber ein bisschen der Reihe nach.
In Berlin angekommen fand ich nach einigem Suchen meine Traum-WG, so ziemlich im Zentrum des Trubels und mit Blick auf den Fernsehturm. Das Sahnehäubchen sind "meine beiden Jungs" - Alex und Andi, die mir mein Leben jeden Tag verschönern :D (Danke dafür)
Während der letzten Monate habe ich hier viel ausprobiert; angefangen vom Designstudium über Kellnern in vier und fünf Sterne Hotels, bis hin zur Konditorin, Gästeempfängerin und nun Luftballonverkäuferin.
Doch nach all dem stellte ich fest, dass es nicht das ist, was mich ausfüllt.
Nun stehe ich also wieder da und weiß nicht so recht, was ich tun soll. Deshalb jobbe ich momentan, werde bald drei Wochen auf Rügen verbringen und dann die Sommerferien wieder auf dem Farbenkinderhof als Ferienlagerbetreuerin. Anschließend geht es für zwei Wochen nach Belgien, worauf ich mich schon sehr freue.
Wie es danach weitergeht, weiß ich noch nicht. Aber ich halte euch auf dem Laufenden :)
Here we go again
Dear readers around the world - here I am (again)!
Since I returned a lot of things happened. I tried to be creative, stood up at 1.30 (at morning!) for four months and now I work as professional balloon seller.
Step by step.
After arriving home I found my dream-shared flat, pretty much in the center of the hustle and bustle of Berlin and a fantastic look at the tv tower. The cherry of the cake are "my two boys" - Alex and Andi, who improve my life every single day :D (Thanks for that)
During the last months I´ve tried a lot of different things - starting with studying Design, beeing a waitress in four and five star Hotels, trying my best in an apprenticeship to become a confectioner and now I welcome vacationer and sell air balloons.
But after all of that I still couldn´t find what fills me.
Now I´m (again) at the point where I started one year ago and don´t know what to do. To figure it out I have different jobs, I will spend two and a half weeks on Rügen and work in the summer holidays on the Farbenkinderhof as riding instructor.
Afterwards I´m heading to Belgium for two weeks, what makes me really happy.
I don´t know how it continues after that but I´ll keep you up to date :)
